Tag143 is a way for you to support causes that are important to you, easily and with style.
If you wear t-shirts, find a design you love, that benefits a cause you care about.

Why tag143?
Originally, the site was inspired by a line from a Frank Turner song that goes, “Let’s make compassion in fashion again”. I thought about making that literal.
Why 143? That comes from Mr. Rogers. 143 was a special number for him as it represented “I love you”. I, 1 letter. Love, 4 letters. You, 3 letters. When I thought about starting this site, I saw people expressing a lot of what they were against and not much about what they cared about and what they were for. Charities supported by tag143 help and take care of people, animals, or nature.
How does it work?
Anyone can submit a design. It will be reviewed and if approved, posted on this site. When you purchase a shirt, some of the proceeds will be set aside for the intended charity. Each month, the total amount raised will be sent to that charity.
Why should I submit a design?
tag143 gives you a chance to amplify the good you can do. For most individuals, their ability to make financial contributions is limited. However, if you create a design that sells 100 shirts, you will have effectively donated ~$750. If 1000 of your shirts sell, you will have inspired ~$7,500 in donations*. If the charity you choose is national or international in scope, and especially if it is topical, the sky's the limit.

Why aren’t the designers being paid?
Great question. As a designer, your skills are very valuable. However, if you want to sell your own shirts, there are lots of places out there where you can do that. The goal of tag143 is to raise money for charity.

You don't take anything from the sale of the shirts? How do you stay in business?
Right now, this is a labor of love. The goal is to raise funds for charity in a fun way. If, at some point in the future, we are raising enough to need to spend more time or money on this project, we will re-evaluate.
Rules for submission
- Charity must be a registered 503c non-profit organization.
- The mission is one that is supportive and helpful to people, animals, or the environment.
- Designs must be minimum jpg or png; 150dpi (300dpi is better), no bigger than 12x16.
- Final decisions on whether to include a design are ultimately up to tag143.
